Terms of Service

These terms are a contract between you and FurFotos, Inc. for the site at https://furfotos.com.

Agreement to terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using the site, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Personal information, cookies, and requests for a copy or deletion of personal information are covered in the Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to open an account. You may post a photo of a person under 18 only if you are that person's parent or guardian, or you have the parent or guardian's permission.

Intellectual property rights

The FurFotos name, logos, and the design of the site belong to FurFotos, Inc. You may not copy them or present them as your own. Your photos, captions, comments, and reactions stay yours, under the license below.

User representations

You confirm that you are 18 or older, that your account information is accurate, and that you have the right to post every photo, video, caption, and comment you add. For any person under 18 in a photo, you confirm that you are the parent or guardian or that you have that person's permission. You agree to follow these terms.

User registration

You can register with an email and password, or with Apple, Google, X, or Facebook. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping that sign-in secure. If you believe someone else is using your account, email [email protected].

Families and invites

A family holds the membership, the pets, and the posts. If you invite someone, you are responsible for who you invite. That person must create their own account and accept these terms before they can use the family. You may remove a person you invited.

Who can see a family

A private family is visible to the accepted members of that family. A public post can be seen by other people on FurFotos, including people who are not in the family. You choose the setting. Post publicly only what you are willing to have seen outside the family.

Subscriptions and payment

Lite is free. Monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions paid through Stripe. Lifetime is a one-time payment through Stripe. The price is the price shown on the site when you pay.

FurFotos does not refund a payment after Stripe confirms it.

If a monthly or yearly subscription is cancelled, FurFotos marks that family unpaid. The paid account stays open for 60 days after the last successful payment, then it is suspended. Lifetime does not expire, and a later cancellation does not mark a lifetime family unpaid.

Photo storage and deletion

FurFotos stores your photos on its server, compresses them, and makes smaller copies for display. The file kept on disk may be smaller than the file you uploaded from your phone.

If a paid membership ends, FurFotos deletes the photo files 6 months after the last successful payment. The account record can remain. Lifetime photos are not deleted on that schedule.

User generated contributions

You may post photos, videos, captions, comments, and reactions about your pets and family. You are responsible for what you post.

Contribution license

You keep ownership of your content. You give FurFotos, Inc. a non-exclusive license to store, compress, back up, and display that content only as needed to run the site. The license ends when the content is deleted, except for copies FurFotos must keep for security, a legal duty, or a dispute. FurFotos does not take ownership of your photos and does not use them in its own advertising under this license.

The license includes showing a public post to other people on the site and, when you choose to share a post, sending that post to your Facebook, Instagram, or X account.

Sharing to Facebook, Instagram, and X

You can syndicate a post to your own Facebook, Instagram, and X accounts. Sharing is your instruction to publish that post on that service. You are responsible for the post and for following that service's rules. Signing in with a service is not permission to publish there.

Google ads

FurFotos shows Google ads in the left and right margins of the pages. Those ads are there for ad revenue. An ad is not FurFotos content, and a click goes to the advertiser.

Prohibited activities

You may not:

  • Post anything illegal.
  • Post sexual content involving anyone under 18.
  • Post animal cruelty.
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate another person.
  • Post a photo of a person, or of someone else's pet, unless you have the right to do so.
  • Post another person's private information.
  • Scrape the site, or try to enter an account that is not yours.
  • Sell or share your account.
  • Use the site to send spam.
  • Interfere with the site.

Comments and reactions

Comments and reactions must relate to the post. You may not use them to harass, to advertise, or to post anything these terms already forbid. FurFotos may remove a comment or reaction that breaks these terms.

Copyright complaints

If you believe a post uses your copyrighted work without permission, email [email protected] with:

  • Your name and contact information.
  • A description of the work.
  • The address of the post.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
  • A statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or the owner's agent.
  • Your signature.

FurFotos may remove the post and may suspend an account that repeatedly infringes.

Suspension and termination

FurFotos may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. A terms suspension takes effect when FurFotos decides it, and it does not wait for the 60-day payment period. FurFotos records the reason.

You may stop using the site and cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation follows the payment rules above.

Disclaimers

FurFotos is a place to keep and share pet photos. It is not veterinary care or emergency help, and it is not a guaranteed archive. The site is provided as available. FurFotos does not promise that the site will always be available or that a photo will never be lost.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, FurFotos, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for lost photos, lost profits, or lost data. FurFotos's total liability for a claim about the site is limited to the amount you paid FurFotos in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, that limit is $100. This limit does not apply where the law forbids it.

Indemnity

You will cover FurFotos, Inc. against a claim that comes from your content, from a person you invite, or from your breach of these terms. That includes a claim that you posted a photo without the right to do so, or without a parent or guardian's permission.

Changes to these terms

FurFotos may update these terms by posting the new version at https://furfotos.com/terms-of-service. If you keep using the site after that posting, you agree to the new version. The price that applies to a payment is the price shown on the site when you pay.
